Defective Power Buttons?

SrTrekker

Lurker
Eight (8) weeks ago, from Verizon, I upgraded to an Incredible 2. I just received my 2nd replacement phone:

1. The original phone was great, but a system update blew the programming. I went to the VZN store, where they, not being able to fix the issue, processed a replacement. (I presume a refurb.)

2. The second phone (first replacement) had a power button that was SO CLOSE to the body, i.e. almost flush, that when you added any protective skin to the phone, it was almost impossible to turn it on. (Additionally, the volume on the ringer was lower.) I took the phone to the VZN store - they agreed, and arranged a second replacement.

3. Today, I received the third phone (second replacement). The power button has the SAME issue? I called HTC, asking if they had a manufacturing issue with the phone. HTC told me that it was correctly manufactured. I then suggested that HTC then has a design defect, making the phone, for all practical purposes, unusable.

I will be taking this phone back to VZN. Does anyone have any recommendations on an alternative phone?

Think hard before you purchase an HTC incredible 2 phone - it's not worth the hassle.

I had the same issue with my original Dinc and my Dinc 2. You're having a bit of bad luck - but try getting another replacement. My 3 month old Dinc2 has a good power button and I've had no issues with it.
