Help Defective touch screen

I've had this problem for awhile and finally sent it to HTC, I hope they fix it. Basically the top part of the screen is whack. You can pull down the notification bar and try to hit clear but it thinks you are pulling the notification bar down. Weird stuff randomly happens too, like the world clock stuff will pop up and such. Anyone have this issue? Also, Radio Interference Errors are bad for me, anyway around this except to root? If rooting is the only option, how do I go about flashing a new radio or whatever is needed to fix the error? I get poor battery life too, I don't know if the phone is always searching for signal or what. I'm using an Optimus again and am pissed off to know end, I forgot how much it sucked. I'd rather have RF issues than deal with this thing again.

Yeah same happened to me I went to best buy and got a new one because it was under warranty 👍 and rooting is the only way I know

Mines actually starting to do this but I was thinking it was my screen protector interfering..

if it gets worse I'll just sell it for a N4

Got the phone back today. They fixed the issue, the screen was replaced (screen protector is not on phone anymore). Now that the radio interference error is getting fixed tomorrow, I'll be completely happy again. My battery life is kind of sucky though, think I need a new battery. Aside from that, I forgot how much the Optimus V sucked and am glad the week with it is over.

The V was a hard phone to kill, though :P

As for battery...Try Juice Defender. Works great for me. I just can't wait for the update to fix the interference error.

I use that. My phone is not activated yet since I do not want to carry it around until my screen protectors come in the mail (was supposed to be in the mail today damnit). I am on it a lot right now, re-downloading stuff, etc. The battery life is great. Perhaps my issue is the phone always searching for signal? Perhaps the Radio Interference Error fix tomorrow will help my battery life?

The ota may fix the issue, it hasn't had wide scale testing and even if it does fix the problem there's no guarantee that it won't break something else.

I have have the radio fix through s-off, and my battery is still not amazing, so I don't think that's it. If you are in an area with low signal, or none at all for a while, yeah it will affect your battery life.

I think the screen being on is the big drainer. People who post screenshots of their battery lasting a really long time are probably not using their phone as much, or they turn off data (3g/4g/wifi). I don't necessarily care about those stats, because I use my phone constantly, all day. I also don't want to turn off data or switch off settings. I like my phone because I use it.

Get an extended battery. The bulk is a little annoying, as well as the fact that you then won't be able to use cases that you like for the phone, but there is a really noticeable difference in battery life. I choose which battery I will use depending on my day. If I'm at work anyway I can just keep my phone plugged in, so it's not a big deal, but if I am going out I switch to the extended battery.

You are correct. Assuming the update doesn't break other things, you should notice a huge battery improvement, since you won't have to search for signal as much

Juice Defender automatically turns your radios off when you're not using them and turns them back on when you do, saves a lot of battery without affecting the ability to use the phone.

It shouldn't have any effect on battery life, it'll probably just increase the time out settings on the phone to allow the text enough time before throwing the error. The issue has nothing to do with signal strength, if you monitor the actual signal it doesn't vary even though your bars might be fluctuating. It's more of a graphical anomaly rather than actual signal fluctuations.
