Definition question: What is OTG?

I see it a lot in posts like OTG Droid, or OTG cable, but for the life of me, I can't seem to figure out what the letters stand for...

Thanks!

I thought it was OG, like OG Motorola droid, like the first Motorola droid phone to ever come out.
When i see it i just thought the OG stood for Original, or Original Gansta Droid, LOL! The first model. :p

I found a site with acronym definitions, but none of them seemed relevant. My thoughts are that the "O" stands for "original," but I can't seem to find anything for the other two letters...

Click on the second post. Was that not the answer ?
It's relevant for a USB device, but it still doesn't seem to address it for the Droid. Everyone seems to reference their "OTG droid" like they're pointing to their "original" phone, so "On The Go" doesn't seem to make sense in this case...

OP,

If you find a post w/ OTG Droid could you provide a link. Thanks.

could this all be over a typo?

I think so. I mean we had Razor in here & he is kind of Sharp :D, & since no else besides the OP has heard of this it could just be a case of spell check gone bad :p

I could be wrong. I've seen "OG" and I thought I saw "OTG" I'll keep a lookout for OTG and post back ifI see it...

At least I know now what OTG stands for in relation to USB, and what OG stands for in the case of the original gangsta droid...

OTG stands for "On The Go" it refers to the USB standard. Usually people use it to talk about a USB cable that you can plug into your phone and then plug things like hard drives, keyboards, game controllers, and other things into the cable to then the above mentioned devices with your phone :)
