Root defunct

updates about kernel:
i added sweep2wake and knockknock
Sweep2wake (S2W) allows you to wake or sleep your device by swiping your finger across the bottom of the screen where the back, home, recent buttons are. Swiping from right to left will put it to sleep (sweep2sleep) and swiping from left to right will wake it up (sweep2wake).

DoubleTap2Wake (DT2W) allows you to wake the device by double tapping anywhere on the screen while screen off

also Im currently tweaking cpu schedulers to be better for this device.

GPU OC will be available real soon. But badass can control GPU speed now. but it wont overclock it

yea um....about that........
added that too :P

Word! My laptop will be up and running again tomorrow so I'll have that video made and should be uploaded shortly after. Will be the first thing I do when I'm done fixing it. Do you think the gpu will be ready by then?
Also realized something today. The galaxy s3 has the same cpu as ours. Or at least very similar. Was browsing through root explorer and found a reference to msm8930, same as ours

Edit: oops that's 8960 sorry. Guess not

GPU OC: it may be. let me tweak it some and i can throw out some test images for you
the s3 has 8960 and the 8930 board is just a tweaked version with a better GPU, half the L2 cache, half the RAM and lower CPU clock speed. as for parts they are about the same from there.
most things that work for them would be easy to port to us. the OC was taken from S3, GPU OC from Nexus 4 which is APQ8064 (modified 8960 but double the everything), usb fast charge/s2w/dt2w came from nexus 5 which is MSM8974.

So in essence they are the same-difference. Have you had experience working with the s3 kernel I assume? If so what can you do about the godawful stability of dkp kernel for tw? >_< lol jk

Well...balls. looks like I WONT be fixing my laptop after all. Hard drive is blown. No idea where imma get the money for a new one. I have my girlfriends laptop at my disposal, but it's pretty much a piece of crap. I'll never own another hp as long as I can. Smfh

danggg.....i've had that b4. the feeling sucks

Yerp it's a pity too. Not much to this thing,1.6ghz dual core Intel celeron b810 4gb ram. Plays and records games not too bad, cpu is its only downfall. Worst part is its my work computer for all my flashing and unlocking. Now I'm without unless I use my girls but it ain't too much better. I DO like AMD though...but it's another friggin HP! Oh well, I got it free. Done me well this past year. Get what you pay for I guess. New drive and I'll be set. This week better be amazing

:D or go to target and pick up 10$ Hydros =)

Lmao, which is a android phone "hydro kyocera"

I wouldn't touch another Kyocera with a million foot long pole! They are garbage, no wonder it's $10. You should be ashamed of yourself to suggest something like like that. *flicks ayis' nose* No...bad:p

i had the hydro and i tried to tackle the locked bootloader. i failed :P
i will push out test kernels today if anyone is feeling flashy

And I'm feeling quite flashy. I'm doing laundry today so I'll have interweave at the 'mat. Will have to use my girls computer for a while but I can get Sony Vegas back

I'm booted. Ran a quadrant at 450 performance and was getting above 60fps on the 2d and first 2 3d tests, though the hallway dipped to about 48 going around the corners. The dna-balls kept a steady 34fps. Scored 6884. Not bad. On the other previous kernel everything was steadier

Maybe a little too much for the gpu? Clocked too high and performance can suffer. Gonna try with other governors to see if less stress helps
