Help Delay when unlocking the phone after KitKat

Hi:

After I upgraded to KitKat everything is fine except for a very annoying thing: after I press the home button to unlock my phone, it takes maybe 4/5 seconds before the phone get responsive. Even the the clock starts to appear like a second later after I press the home button and it shows the wrong time.

I reduced the time (it was even worse) disabling the lock screen personal message.

Anyone with this problem? Any help appreciated, I'm quite frustrated.

Thanks!

Strange. The usual complaint is that there was a 2-3 second delay in 4.3, but 4.4.2 fixed it. I have a personal message, and the whole screen is there before U can get the power button all the way down.

I'm seeing the S3 4.3 update again, with everyone getting something different.

Rukbat, that's how it was before KitKat. I'm used to have my phone in my pocket and press the home button while I take it out. So the keyboard was ready for me to type as soon as I had it on my hands.

I am also seeing this on two of the Note 3's that we have. I've turned off Lookout and uninstalled a system cleaner to see if this was the issue (I still have the issue). It comes and goes on mine and is pretty consistent on the other one that we have. I didn't have this "feature" before the upgrade.

I sure hope Safestrap and being rooted keeps the "upgrade" from changing anything. I need this upgrade like I need a broken screen.

I've changed from password to PIN and the delay is gone. I think the problem is related to the keyboard. I supposed that in the beginning because I use Swiftkey, but after removing Swiftkey the problem persisted with the stock keyboard.

So, as a workaround, I will use a PIN for a while instead of a password to unlock my phone.
