Help delete by selection :@

recently bought this phone and all is well, however, when texting a delete by selection application keeps opening. It seems to happen when deleting text but i cant re-create it when im trying so cant be sure.
all i know is the amount of times i tap delete thats how many times the app opens. so if i tap 5 times i have to close 5 screens.
this doesnt happen every time i delete just occasionally... maybe 1 in 4 texts
its super annoying. how can i stop it?

Interesting..this page is the first link on Google when I searched for an answer to this very same question. It seems reasonable then to have an answer to it posted here. I look forward to seeing what it is!

One cause asks to be found at Disabling the Delete Selection Wizard in text messages on Gingerbread Sense - xda-developers. It doesn't seem to be my particular issue. It also doesn't mention a solution yet.

It's a pain in the ass. There's a thread here about it but no solution to the problem (yet).
