Help Delete Calendar and Addresses

I reformatted my computer. Whenever I do this, my address book always gets duplicates...either on the phone or on the PC (or both). Anyone know how to avoid this? I use the MyPhoneExplorer app. If no answer to that, how do I remove the info from the phone? The only downfall to all of this is that my appointment invites are no longer from me. So I'd have to reinvite if I have to change appointments, etc.
