Help delete emails from gmail acct

sometimes I have a ton of emails on in my gmail account some of which I do not want to read
I am unable to delete more than one at a time which is very time consuming

Are you using your device or a computer to try and delete the emails?
If using your device, you can long press on each of the emails, then when done, hit the trashcan icon up top.

Even simpler now, you can tap the icon (letter or picture) to the left of as many emails as you want, then tap delete to remove them.

Alternatively, you could try the new Inbox app by google and mark emails as done which sort of archives them outside of your inbox. I prefer the new inbox app as I like to keep my inbox clean.
