it's only 544kb & hardly takes up any space but uninstall it with Titanium Backup

Actually, there is an option to remove it along with other things in the Velocity Toolkit under the menu Application Settings.

I'm having trouble with this, I downloaded a version of the regular Android player which I liked better, and then I went into Velocity scripts, remove system apps, and told it to uninstall MIUI. It was still there, tried it again, still there, rebooted, still there....

Use titanium backup, any root uninstaller, or terminal to remove it.
