delete vs. backspace when using keyboard

The Captivate's on-screen keyboard has a key labeled "DEL", but it actually functions like a backspace in that it deletes the key behind the cursor, as opposed to in front of it. Is there any key/function on the on screen keyboard that functions like a standard "Delete" key on a regular keyboard - i.e. it deletes the character in front of the cursor?

I figured if there was something like that I would have noticed it by now, but I just thought I would ask in case I was missing something incredibly obvious.
