Help Delete Yahoo contacts

There's a similar question in the Introductions forum but as it stated, that forum is not for support so, here I am.

It seems that I unwittingly synced up all my Yahoo contacts at some point after downloading the yahoo app. Is there anyway to deleted the Yahoo contacts off my Evo? (If I missed the answer to this question in another forum, please let me know.)

Are you talking about the yahoo messenger app? If so, you can open it up, click menu --> options --> uncheck the box next to "Synch Yahoo! Contacts".

This method DOES NOT WORK. You can not uncheck the box. You try, it give a confirmation, but nothing happens.

what you have to do, frequently, is settings > applications > manage > messenger > clear data

Bring up all your apps, scroll down to the one called people. Select it --> menu --> view --> then under options, do you have an entry for Google, Phone, and Yahoo? I only have Google and Phone.

I am guessing that IF you have an entry called Yahoo, you can do the following. (please make sure the contacts you want to keep are backed up somewhere)

Uncheck the boxes next to Google & Phone, and make sure there IS a check next to Yahoo. Click Done. You should be now looking at only your Yahoo contacts.

Now click menu --> delete --> menu --> select all --> delete

Now you need to go back and re-check the boxes next to Google & Phone so your other (non yahoo) contacts show up.

Yes, in theory, that should work and I had already tried that but when I hit DELETE, the next screen that shoes up has "no matches found" with the search box across the top prompting me for which contact do delete. As Ricky Ricardo would say 'I am confus ed':confused::confused:

No, I'm talking about the Android Yahoo email client.

I had a similar problem on my android mobile. i uninstalled the yahoo app then reinstalled it. last stage of installation asks if you want to sync contacts take the tick out of the box and all is good. i could not find a way to get back into the app to unsync without uninstalling it first.
