Deleted Drafts/Discard Texts Still Appearing in "new text" box... Help?

I have one contact where every time I try to type a message there is a half a sentence from an earlier message. I don't know how to remove this. I have sent the text. I have deleted all of the thread for that contact. I don't know what to do. Can someone help.

It's an annoying issue. Basically, go into Messages, tap the Menu softkey, and you should see a Drafts button. Delete it from there. Then reboot the phone. That usually takes care of it.

Here's my quandary.

I type up a text message, decide I don't want to send it, click delete and leave "messages" app. I go back to that person to text message them something else and the old text appears in the new text box. I have to backspace the text and type up my new text and hit send. Next time I go in, that same old old text is still in the new text box. So I went to my Drafts folder and empty/delete all the Drafts. I go back and the text is still in the new box. I have also Discarded the text and it still appears. Is there a place to empty the Discards? Any help?

Have you considered using Handcent as your message app?

I had the same issue. I deleted all drafts, rebooted the phone...hasn't happened to me since.
