Help Deleted ebook still visible HTC DHD

IanB

Newbie
Hi everyone,
I exported a PDF file to Grammata Converson to convert to Epub format. I exported the Epub file to "Digital editions" sub-directory on the SD card. Using HTC reader, the converted file appeared on the "bookshelf" and was readable. Unhappy with the quality of the imported file, I tried to delete the file with HTC Reader - Impossible - so I deleted the file from the SD card. However, the book still shows up on the bookshelf and nothing I do can get rid of it: clean cache, examine SD & Phone with File Manager, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation

Try this:
Reboot your phone
or
Connect and disconect your phone (as 'Disk drive') to the PC.

I think the HTC Reader has to update his index.

Hi Harry,
Thanks for the reply. I have tried both and neither worked. I have also used a cache cleaner and checked all obvious files on the phone & SD card for a duplicate file with no success. On a PC, I would look for a registry entry pointing to the file...Does the DHD have a registry? If so, is there a way to edit it? Any other possible solution would be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation,

Hi Ian,

just for a test I have deleted one of my imported eBooks in HTC Reader.
No problem.
In HTC reader I switched to the book's list view (bottem left corner, the button with the lines), did a long press on the book and choosed 'Delete'.
The book disappeared from the book shelf and from the folder 'Digital Editions' :)

I think you should try to delete the book in the list view too.
Maybe copy back your book in 'Digital Editions' before (with USB-PC connection).

Hi Harry,
I had deleted the book from the PC, too. However, your idea about deleted from the book list display worked. Thank you for your time and expertise. Hope you have a great Xmas and an even better new year.

The Learning point for newbies is: Don't erase books from the SD card, do it from the program.
