I don't buy this story and I call BS.

I know that people who ordered online were saying the same thing: that VZW was not canceling orders and making them refuse the shipment instead. Regardless of why someone wants to cancel, making them have to wait two weeks to refuse the shipment and then who knows how long for the phones to get back and get credited is bad customer service. $600 is a lot for some people to have tied up for that long.

will the op also be liable for the $35 restocking fee (x3=$105 in this case) even if he refuses delivery?
I was told today that even if I return the phone unopened after I get it (like if I decide to get the Ally) I'd have to pay restocking fee. Seems crazy if the box is unopened and still sealed.

it sounds like the OP maybe made some hasty decisions, but I'm sure he did so based on the idea that Verizon would be able to make good on what he paid for. If I was a judge, I'd probably just make both parties walk away from each other quietly--hoping that each learned a valuable lesson.

I would still be upset if I was told I would have my phone the next day (3 of them for that matter) only to find out they are on back order.

I agree and its this reason Verizon should cancel the order. The buyer lived up to there part of the contract but Verizon failed to deliver the goods when promised. Verizon is a terrible Company im not sure why so many people stay with them. They have terrible after the sale service.

No doubt, but the OP needs his money back.

This from someone who has a DInc? Honestly? Why do you stay with them?

You are welcome to your opinion as to their service, but asking why people stay with them when you clearly have is rather...well...illogical and sort of odd.

This story is 100% accurate...my dad has problems with his incredible, and was promised an incredible would be shipped out last Wed overnight. Well we called the next day to find out where it was, and were told nothing will be delivered until after the 26th of May. So my dad said screw it, I'm going to re-hook up my Droid, and just send this one back and get a refund and save the upgrade for another time. That's all fine and good, however they charged his amex when they set up the order to send out the new replacement. And when they received the defective one they would refund the card. Well guess what, they wont refund the card or cancel the order! We were told the same thing, to refuse the package. Are u seriously kidding me? So my dad has to have $326 sitting on his credit card and then wait till around the 1st week of June to get a refund. That's playing dirty to me! Well the big guy is going to call one more time tomorrow, and if they give him the run around, he's going to cancel his line, my mothers, and my sisters. And then simply call up amex and dispute the charge. So they'll loose 3 customers for being hogs and not playing fair. It's the principal in his eyes, and mine as well. That's just extremely disrespectful to a loyal customer of so many years. Nobody's fault but there own that there short on stock. Either way, just not cool!

Simply put, they have the best service in the continental US, that's why. After sales service is hit or miss it seems. I have never had any problems with them.
