Just happened to me today...very irritating! Has anyone found any causes for this?
This happened to me yesterday as well. I regularly clean out my inbox so I only keep about 50 message per contact... if it goes over that I try to delete the message history. So I doubt this issue is due to memory allocation.
That being said, yesterday I received a message from my wife. I went to check it and my messages were all wiped out. However, it still showed a "1" at the bottom saying I had 1 new message. Then she texted me again and that also disappeared while I was in the messaging app. Now I had 2 unread messages that couldn't be read.
I restarted my phone and they both showed up... but everything else was gone. No idea what caused it, and it never happened to me on the Eris. I changed my settings to auto delete messages when it goes over 50 per contact.
I really don't care that messages were deleted... I mean when do I ever need to go back and check a message from a month ago saying "pick up the milk"... but they shouldn't just disappear.
This is the 6th time my phone has deleted my ENTIRE text log. I do not have "delete old text messages" checked in settings, i do not use Handcent or other text message software, I use what came with the phone, my text message limit per conversation is set to 2000 (i never reach that amount). My maximum message size is set to 1.2M. I downloaded SMS Backup and do have some text logs saved, but my GOD why the hell does this keep happening??
I've noticed that when my weather on the home screen doesnt show, unable to retrieve data, every time I have experienced that, my text messages are deleted soon after that.
Can someone, please, give me any information about this. Has anyone been experiencing deleted text logs? Your entire text log, completely gone, not just a few here & there.
