Deleting Apps / Making Icons Larger

Hi, I have a question regarding the main menu and the possibility of altering it.

Is it possible to erase apps that I don't use, and also DELETE them from the menu completely?

If so, is it possible to make the icons larger so to only 6 icons fit one page, instead of the usual 12 that there is?

Thanks! :)

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > tap the app, then tap uninstall. This cannot be done to preinstalled apps, unless you root the phone.

Don’t know about making icons larger.

not sure of what device you have but i'm willing to bet you can't change the menu or its settings with out having root on your phone.

EDIT:
You cannot delete system apps with out being root. What device do you have and we can help guide you into the right path of accomplishing this feat.

Haha, thanks! It's an old Galaxy Ace. the simcard pins are damaged (long story :() and it is unrepairable. Because of this I want to use it as a dedicated Satnav for my car, as my current satnav is dying and is useless when I need it the most.

I pretty much want to get rid of all the clutter and only leave 2 or 3 icons. Make the icons big and useable for car use, thats all :)

Plus, by deleting/disabling all that junk, maybe it might speed up the phone a little bit, it is a little dated so it wouldn't hurt.

Thanks again!

Even if you can’t uninstall an app, any app, you can at least delete its shortcut icon – just longpress it then drag it to the trash bin that just appeared.

Unless you're running out of internal memory, deleting apps that aren't used won't affect your speed or performance. Android is able to allocate resources when needed and even if you have a rogue app you never use, it won't matter. You can always delete them off your home screens and never think about them. :)
To make your icons larger, you'll likely need a third party launcher. I use Nova which requires ICS/Android 4.0+ but I think GoLauncherEX can let you size app icons up.

If you want to make apps bigger, use nova launcher prime.
If you aren't on ICS 4.0 OR don't want to spend money, use adw.launcher.
Its easy.
But you can remove any app, even if you are rooted.
Removing certain stock apps can make your phone buggy in the best case scenario or kill your phone in the worst.
Although removing bloat has no effect on the phone itself, just ota updates and such.
Remove any bloat and you can ota update.
But if your all updated then go ahead.
I freed nearly 85 MBS by removing bloat and apps I don't use.

Regarding making the icons bigger or smaller.
Get Nova Launcher it is very customisable.
You can change the size, the amount you have up and down or left to right and a whole lot more.
And you can save all of that for the next phone.

If your phone is rooted you can uninstall ANY app (including pre-installed ones), however I presume your phone isn't so you can't do that (yet). Also, regarding your icons issue - if you install a Launcher (available on the Google Play Store for free) such as GO Launcher or Nova Launcher you can customise all that sort of stuff and more!
