Deleting Apps

Is there a difference between uninstalling an app through the market, and using the Settings / Manage Applications and uninstalling from there?

I cleaned up my apps today and uninstalled a number of them through the Settings menu. I then did a titanium backup, flashed a new rom, and restored. It restored apps that I had removed  (or at least thought I had...?)

The big diff between uninstalling via the market vs other methods is that you don't get asked why you are uninstalling it ;)

If Ti has a backup of an app, it will offer to restore it. If you really want it gone, delete the backups from Ti. Otherwise, check the list of apps in the restore list and untick the ones you don't want to restore before running the batch operation.

Yes. There's a setting for the maximum number of backups, but that's per app. So if that is set to 1, when you take a new backup of an app it replaces the old one. But if you run the batch backup it can only make a new backup of apps that are currently on the phone, so only those are replaced - old backups of apps that have since been deleted won't be affected.

Hope that makes sense!

OK, I understand. I guess I thought it was taking more of a 'snapshot', and replacing that with the one that was previous.
Thanks for your help, as always.
