Deleting Apps

Can someone tell me if I can delete the Apps and what I would be effecting if I did?
Google Play Books
Google Play Music
Google Play services
IMDB - only says uninstall updates - anyway to delete complete app? There are other apps I don't want that also say this.

Sounds like carrier bloatware. And you need to be rooted to delete it. As for Google Play Services that's a necessary core service so you can use the Play Store to download apps.

Examples also include:

Orkut
Twit
Email
Filer
Docs to go
Google +

You'll get more of a response if you head over to your Devices Forums (I've read elsewhere you have the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator)...as they can tell you what can/can't be removed.

The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator forums are HERE

The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator All Things Root forums are HERE

There you should get a much better response to your question about your device.

That beast invaded my tiny android last month. I deleted it, it comes back a couple days later, repeat ad nauseum.

As mentioned above, you would need to be rooted to get rid of these apps. And welcome to the forums. :hello:

I think most of those are Google bloat rather than carrier. As for Google Play Services, that only installed itself on my phone last week, so I expect I can download fine without it.

Yup, just tested: uninstalled it, killed Play Store app, reloaded Play Store, updated Street View. Worked fine without.

But as Jeff says, it'll be back. In the old days you could stop stuff like this (if rooted) by removing the Market Updater app, but I think that's built into Play Store now (because Play Store updates itself even though I have no Market Updater installed).
