Help deleting email

So this has happened more than once. When I have alot of emails piled up in my trash folder like say 70 or more, when I hit delete all it hangs and doesn't do anything and than it forces close. What I do is delete them 10 at a time. Is any one else having this very annoying problem? I mean why can't I just hit delete all and be done with it?

I notice that deleting inside of gmail is very fast and does not freeze the phone, but deleting mail in yahoo or in hot mail (@live.com) makes the phone go unresponsive and takes sometimes over a min before the phone snaps out of the frozen condition. Ive never deleted more than maybe twenty at a time because I delete a couple times per day.
