Help Deleting Google/Gmail account

My wonderful son was messing with my new phone on the way home from getting it, in the hour and a half that it took us to get home, he had changed my settings to HIS liking, etc. I don't normally care that he does this (he's 14, he's into gadgets..lol) as Im use to it, I allow him to do it with my new computers, ipad, ipod, etc... but here we are today, my Inspire now has HIS gmail showing up on my phone, and has synced my contacts to his gmail account, etc.

Do I have to reset my phone in order to rid the turkeys gmail off of MY phone? If I do need to reset it, will all my APN/network stuff stay there? AND will I also lose my brand spanking new side loading that att just pushed to me yesterday?
I don't care about apps and such as I haven't really done much in that regard yet... I only care about my new push and my contacts.. oh and the network connecting stuff.
Thanks!

Kids.... sigh.

If you go to menu-settings-accounts & sync is his gmail account listed there?

Yup, under Google. Then I do the remove account, and it gives me that message about needing it, and only way to remove it is to reset the phone....

Should I tie the kid up?!

:D

Is yours listed as well or did he somehow replace yours with his?

Mine was never input... I can't figure out how to do it, LOL! I was hoping to delete his, and somehow add mine. I wonder if I can figure out how to ADD mine, if THEN it would allow me to delete his? Hmm.

I'd be abit lost without his uhhh.. help... haha... I guess its why I allow him to mess it all up ;)

You might have to reset if your account isn't listed there. You could try menu-settings -accounts & sync then add account. Worst case scenario is a reset

This is why I gave my daughter an old iphone 3gs to play with to keep her lil sticky fingers off my phone (literally they are sticky, she's 4)

She's 4, she can get away with messin' up your stuff for a few more years :p

My son is really good about keeping my stuff updated, charged, etc.. so I try hard not to be too selfish with MY toys, since he is pretty helpful, this is the first time he may have 'goofed' up .. oh well, it's not critical I suppose, since the phone is only a couple days old there isn't much to lose on it except the contacts (eek). Will I lose my new update (side loading) too?

Copy the contacts to your sim card. I believe when you are in your contact list its menu-import/export

And for the sideload update im going to say that's 50/50. I'm not sure how much time you spent with att to get that update but if you wanted a simpler way another member posted this link http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-inspire-4g/107462-i-have-capability-add-uknown-sources-your-phone.html

And surprisingly my daughter is pretty good with my phone but she will use it till its dead then hand it back and grab her iphone. She's in the process of teaching grandma how to play angry birds.

Surprisingly I spent less than 5 minutes from start of chat with att rep to the moment I received the push... whoa!

I added my account and it still didn't allow me to delete the other account. That is so frustrating, I should be allowed to delete accounts off my phone..Gr. Nonetheless, I ended up resetting my phone. I lost my side loading push I received but everything else is fine and working, and thats what matters most. I'll just chat with att again and get it re-pushed to me, easypeasy.

Thank you for your help, its appreciated! :-)

This happened to me too. Apparently the first gmail account you associate with the market cannot be deleted and I had to factory reset my phone. I was afraid I would lose my contacts, but they were still on my SIM so no problems there
