Help Deleting multiple emails - anyone know how?

I know to delete a single email: hold down on each email until the screen prompts for a new action. But how do you delete multiple emails all at once?

^that. On the e-mail screen there's a checkbox by each e-mail. Check all the one's you want deleted, press Delete, done.

Where is that option? I can't find batch settings anywhere :(

In the Gmail application, hit Menu, then "more" then "settings"

You may need to install the newest version of Gmail from the market, I seem to recall this function was removed for some prior releases, so it may not be included in the version of Gmail that ships with the phone.

What if I have 200+ emails in my Trash folder in the stock email accounts (not the primary Gmail account).

Is there a way to do a batch delete of these 200+ by a "select all" or a "check all" option , instead of manually clicking on each 200+ emails one by one, then clicking the delete button?

Using the stock email (not the GMail app); select one or more messages by pressing the check box next to it, then press the menu button on your phone. You should see a pop up menu with "Select All"/"Deselect All".

Sorry this doesn't work for you. This is what I get at the bottom of my screen:

(My phone is rooted, that's how I got the screen cap. I did have these options before root)

For those of us whose Dell Streak 5 doesnot show the 'select all' but does show a 'DeSelect All' (where theres a dotted lined checkbox iinstead of the X shown above)? How do we get the same screen update as yours do?

I have instslled Enhance Email from the Android Market. Now I can batch delete with the select-all button plus can now clear hundreds of oldail from trash bins and updates the client side folders as I clear from my cellphone. Cool to be able to now move selected mail to other folders too
