Help Deleting single event of recurring Calendar event -- issue

I have the HTC M8 (Android 4.4).
I sync my Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 2013 (local) on my Win7 PC. I create some recurring Calendar events on Outlook then sync my phone. However when I want to delete (or edit) a single event of the series on the phone, it will no allow it. It pops up a message to only delete the entire series. Not sure if this is an Android or HTC issue. I had the Samsung S3 before this and I could perform this action.
So I have to delete the event (single instance of the series) on my PC then sync again.

Help?

If you install Jorte as your calendar app (and IMO it's a darned good one) you should have the option to delete single instances.

That said, you didn't mention whether you're using the stock calendar app or a different one...

Am using the stock HTC Calendar.

Just not sure why this changed with it and was OK with my old Samsung S3 (Android 4.2). So not sure if Android or HTC issue....
