Deleting unessecary files

Is there a simple way to be able to tell which files I can safely delete off of my internal sd cards without disrupting anything that my apps may need to access in order to run properly or without deleting anything else that's crucial my phone? Any particular app that goes through and organizes the file extension names and tells me which ones are necessary or not?

If you go through the folders, most of the files should make some sort of sense - like backups (Astro File Manager, etc), Media - ringtones, Camera / DCIM - pictures, videos. For the most part the file structures make pretty good sense.

Here's what I advise you to do, just to be safe - install SwiFTP or eStrong File Manager, and copy all of the internal SD card files to your computer. Then try deleting files / folders which you're not sure about, and see if there are any ill effects. If there are issues, you can easily copy back.

For the most part, personally, I leave the files on the sd card because most files are small and do not take up that much room.
