Deleting widgets and programs . . .

How do you delete a program or widget from one of the screens on the DI? I also have twitter on one whole screen, but want to replace it with FB and and I cannot figure out how the heck to get rid of it!

Press and hold it until it changes color. The "Phone" button on the home screen will turn into a trash can. Drag it down and drop it into the trash can.

thanks Dcfan (and starogreen for the OP)! I had no idea how to do this either. This phone is def gonna take a while to learn.

Its that way on all android phones, its just something you learn. Its sorta that way on the iphone as well except the screen gets jiggly and an X appears in the corner of the icon, you just press the X and its gone. So its not a hard feature to find if you've used similar os's with touch screen controls in the past.

Word up to the andriod users from a low (wo)man on the totem! the small keyboard is driving me nuts! any tips?

I find using it in landscape mode to be easier for my fat fingers, however I have a bit more trouble with the spacebar in landscape...always hitting B or V instead.

Best suggestion I have for the keyboard issue is to download the Swype APK from the Tips and Tricks thread.

Swype kicks ass. I came from a Rogue which has a pretty good physical keyboard IMO and I don't miss it whatsoever.

I just adore this phone! :D

I've done this and the remove even lights up but when I let go the screen reverts back to the home screen and the program is still there?

You have to drag it to where it says remove, not just let it go. You can just move it to another spot instead of deleting it this same way.

that is what I did do and it just reverts back to the home screen without deleting the app ?

I've tried it with several different apps and no success :(

go to market, hit menu, hit my downloads.

touch the program you don't want and you will have the option to uninstall. the icon on the home screen is just a short cut.

this is what I was looking for thanks for the help

It looks like if you downloaded an app from the Market you need to uninstall it through the market or through the Settings/Applications part.
