Help Deleting Yahoo Contacts

So, trying to help out a friend. Essentially, I'm wondering if it's possible to remove contacts which have been synced from Yahoo mail without necessarily removing ALL the Yahoo contacts or removing that person from the actual Yahoo contacts themselves, but rather just the People list. I've read that I have to remove Yahoo's autosync, but I'm wondering if this will accomplish the above goals?

If you go into the people app and hit menu, there is an option for which contacts from different accounts to show.
