Here are the results. It atleast boots up all the way to the main home screen but something is force closing (doesn't show what but it's vibrating) and it ends up restarting the phone everytime( not a complete restart but it goes back to the glowing samsung temporarily and then then comes on and it keeps repeating that.

ok, it worked for a minute... It showed the lockscreen... and status bar shows and everything and everything works... until the media scanner starts, then screen freezes and goes black and repeats over and over...

I was almost able to turn on debugging but it keeps resetting when the media scanner comes on. So I have about 10 Seconds before it restarts to try and activate debugging...

So, all works great, installs and boots just fine, and I'm kinda digging the lock screen. I modified mine for nTelos and it connected first boot. I don't like MetroPOS so I will be removing all bloatware. Also, no need to mount anything when you install it.

So, now that we have a deodexed version, what do we do with it? O.o

In all honesty, besides de-bloating.... what would it take to get Req or someone moving on an updated OC kernel?
Beyond that, all the ROMs for 2.3.4 were pretty much the same stuff.... folks either tried to port ICS to the Admire, or built a ROM from Admiral Beast... I've been following this forum since just before the Beast was released, and haven't seen anything NEW... I'm no dev, but what would it really take to move this device of ours in a new direction? Obviously months of work, but I'm thinking someone could strip this OS down to something that doesn't require uninstalling every absolutely non-essential app we have, and then re-build this baby from the ground up.
Eye candy? Not as necessary as getting the most out of the device....

Well, I have also been following this thread for some time, since Req started work on it, and that topic has been brought up several times. The answer has always been "deal with what you have," "there isn't anything else to do to it," or the devs that would be able to do something like that are the ones that say "deal with what you have," or "there isn't anything else to do to it." I would love to see an actual CM9 or simply ICS on this device but like everyone has said before, it would end up being too stripped down to be a real ICS/CM9. Like most say, just deal with what we have and use the many themes for it, I'm sure one will spark your fancy

On a side note, I tired running No Bloat Free and it freezes for a few minutes and then vibrates before saying that the Superuser Request wasn't responding and I had to close it.

I'm just assuming that most devs maybe have no more interest in the admire so to answer your question it wouldn't take anything because they wouldn't do it. Playfulgod said before that the admire has seen more love than a lot of other android devices and I think that's true. And everytime i see req's name being used its always about him doing something or cm7 and cm9. I think by now he probably has all the kinks worked out in cm7 and pg said he has cm9 running so idk what he's waiting on in terms of release but yeah you just have to wait and see what comes out in the passing months or deal with what you have.

Deodexing a rom shouldnt be this hard. Either someone botched the deodex, or someone botched the updater-script and it isnt flashing right.
