This may work for some. I'm not making any promises or marking this thread as SOLVED etc. It worked for me and it may work for you. Try switching off the auto brightness and.setting it low.

I'm actually wondering if Autobrightness uses more power than a constant 60% or something.... Because it has to use sensors which are constantly monitoring.

I wonder that myself. I use autobrightness especially in summer, because it makes the screen more readable outside.
Perhaps, I'll switch it to like 50% and see how that feels.

having problems with mine. with everything off including 3g it only lasts about a day. with everything on it lasts about 6 hours! it diddn't say in the instructions to charge it for ages when i first got it so i just stopped charging it when i saw it was full. it says on the specification it's supposed to last a week!

How quick? Get Battery Monitor Widget and check the phone performance in the past 24 hours.
