Help Desire blurring out contact photos?

I just noticed this..my phone blurs out my contact photos..in the people widget and it's also very noticeable during a call. The original photos are good quality. This is really annoying..anyway to fix it?

Are you syncing to Google?
Google takes your nice pictures and then stomps all over them before it hands you mashed up remains back

If you sync to Facebook any facebook contacts will have better quality facebook photos.
Or you can let google sync the contacts then edit each contact and put your own picture back.
It should stay then.

Yes, I am syncing to google. But even if I edit and change the pics, wouldn't they be stomped all over again during the next sync?

I don't think Google syncs contacts unless the details are changed and on my phone it seems it ignore the picture being changed.

I think I read where Google drops the resolution of your contact photos to save bandwidth on syncing. Not sure if there's a setting to change that, I can't imagine it saving that many bits.
