Desire coming monday, worth rooting?

Hi all

Well ive ordered one from orange as they made a really nice deal when i rang up. Anyway ive heard the orange one comes with "orange crap" on it, Is it worth putting the standard rom on it or keeping the orange crap? Also is there much benifit to rooting the phone?

I wouldn't do it just to get rid of the Orange crap but it is well worth it for enabling the use of apps that require root, in my case Cachemate, WiFi Tether and overclock.

The process provided by Paul O'Brein is a breeze now.

From what i've heard the Orange ROM is by far the worse of the lot with some default apps removed too.

Should be easy enough to rectify if you don't get on with it

Yeah, I think they have overdone it, went generic straight away...

Really liking the black version...
