Hey guys first time posting here ( just joined too

Ive had my Desire for 6 months or so now and worked fine but since the update i cannot get reception at all. i cant receive messages or calls however if i force it too call someone or message someone it has reception but then goes away in about 2 seconds.
I have downloaded a program that tells me how many db im getting. Im getting on average ( this is what it says ) Signal: 2. Low: 0. High: 99.
I know that a high db is bad and 99 is really high. i have used my SIM in other devices and works flawlessly. any advice or solutions you could give me? any help would be greatly appreciated.
