Desire HD or the Nexus S

hey guys am from india,,and am planning to get DHD from china, my bro is there for a business tour..
i know i will have no warranty on that in here..can anyone say how will i get updates on new os when released?
am new to linux/android world.
i seriously dono wats locked-unlocked versions or rooting thing..
If i go for nexus s ,what about the warranty and service centre in india? pls throw some lights on this
what is the price of the both ?
let it be any phone i wana buy it from china,as it ll be cheaper for me.

Mmmm , interesting dilema, DHD or nexus s,
a well built aluminium unibody versus a plastic body ?
a larger screen in a smaller body versus a smaller screen in a larger body ?
super lcd versus amoled (not really that much difference in the real world)
fantastic sense ui versus half hatched bada (?)

see where i'm going with this one,

i know people with the samsung effort and they agree the DHD is better, only advantage with the Nexus is earlier upgrades, but what did we care about upgrades before smart phones, all we cared about was hardware,
