Desire HD Won't Send Pictures

For some strange reason, my phone won't send picture messages... is it possibly because I don't have 3G or WiFi connected?

No, they should send regardless. Do you have correct MMS settings for your carrier? Picture messages take advantage of them rather than data settings.

My phone will not send pictures unless my 3g/4g is connected. If i have it turned off it automatically enables it to send a picture. My wifes phone is the same way except her phone won't turn the 3g/4g on by itself.

That's interesting. Maybe carriers use more advanced networks than here!

Hi

With my carrier it's a combination of the 2. You have to have the provider's MMS settings (you can usually get these sent to you by text from the provider or from your account on their website) but you also have to have GPRS enabled. Usually you can adjust your MMS settings to allow for this so that it is not on all the time and using data allowance if that is an issue.

You need a data connection, anything except WiFi. MMS will not send over 2G

Wrong on the 2G statement. I only have a 2G connection on my DHD here in the states (since it doesn't have 3G bands for USA), and MMS sends just fine. I just had to modify the APN to use on T-Mobile USA. I don't know what network you are on, but if it's T-Mobile USA go into settings for your APN and enter this in the MMSC field: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

That's 2.5G and the data connection is GPRS
