Help desire not finding htc

As title says..

I know there's a few threads on this, but none with a solution...

I'm trying to force apps onto my memory card.. but in a tut im following it says to open up htc sync, and sync my phone..

Will i mess up my phone if i skip this part ?

I think you just need to be connected to HTC sync for it to work. You don't actually have to sync anything else.

oh i see.. but that's my exact problem, it wont connect to htc sync, as it can't find it

I think it works if you set it to Charge Only too.
(Moving apps to SD card)
