Hmm strange one....

Done some searching here and google and not found anything to work.. Problem is rooted my phone and currently have LeeDrOiD Mod V1.4b on it. Try as I might I have not been able to set the APN, tryed loads !! none have worked :( Anyone on same tariff as me with a desire like to tell me your APN settings...?

After typing all them in my phone noow says cannot connect due to incorrect APN settings, i was on WiFi when I copied them down and thought i'd go on mobile data to test it. I am going to sleep on it, because I didn't change any settings. I hope it is o2 :S
 
My wife's phone (also on 02 pay and go) is saying APN error too, so it must be o2....

BTW she doesn't have a Desire

That is strange, did you try the other way or maybe reset the phone so o2 thinks the sim is in a new phone.
There was a way in the menu system of some phones on o2 to request the settings.

Yup even tried the icon in apps... just errors and says call em

Phew, woke up this morning and my mobile data works again! It must have been o2, try the above settings again Intruder
 
hehe, cool. I was on Thorpe Edge to be exact.

Hope your mobile data comes on again, it's a shame o2 don't have a service status page. If you go to settings, about phone, network it says a bit.
 
I'm starting to think its something to do with the rom, never had this problem before since I got the phone.. Might try another rom
