Desire physical buttons difficult to press

Hi all,

Tried searching but didn't find anything about this. I've had my Desire for about a year. Recently, I've noticed that the physical buttons have become difficult to press. What I mean is, they aren't sensitive anymore and I have to press them quite hard to get them to work. It only seems to be the front facing buttons. The power button and volume controls are ok.

Anyone had this problem and know if there's a fix?

Mine work fine but the home key sits at a jaunty angle (higher on the right hand side) and the menu key is less firm in the lower half (!). All still click and work nicely though.

Front buttons fine, but my volume rocker has developed a black line across the middle. Not sure if this is a stress crack? Doesn't seem to sit properly flush as well.

I have now had my Desire for a little over a year and have just started noticing this. Another consideration to take in mind when deciding whether to upgrade to the Sensation

I have the same issue but only on the back button.

Aha, I'm not alone then. At first (in August 2010) I started to notice that MENU button needed several times to be pressed in order to display the menu. Now it's the search key (the one that's less used) that's working properly. Home, Menu and Back require a 3-4 times more pressure to acquire for it to work. This is bullshoe. I've had nothing but troubles with this phone. First it's the motherboard that had to be changed (2 times) then those button. And a constant lack of internal storage...Doh..I will consider not buying HTC again in the future even though I tended to like their quality in the past..

I've got the same problem with my 'home' button, will have to soldier on 'til next April when I can upgrade. At least the newer HTCs have less physical buttons.

Another one here with the same menu button issue.
Had it about a year now.
(the phone not the issue)

I have the same problem... First it was only the back button... But now I got the same problem with the menu button.. Anyone tried to return it to HTC? Will they repair it?
