Help Desire S system crashes constantly

Y_B

Newbie
Ok so i waited for the Desire S, got one the day after they launched in the UK and it started to crash all the time at random.

I took it back to phones4u and they gave me a replacement Desire S.

This 'new' one seems better, it crashes less however its still crashing at random.

Example: I was writing a text message and the phone just crashed to the HTC reboot screen, a calendar reminder once caused it to reboot, opening an app causes it to reboot as does closing an app... Its ridiculously unstable!!!

Its totally random as well, one single thing wont cause it to reboot but many normal things seem to cause it problems at random.

Its on 2.3.3 and there are no updates.

The phone still crashes even with standard apps on.

I came over to Android from the IOS platform and i have to say Android is terrible. My Iphone would never crash. This is the first brand new phone ive ever had and it sucks!!!

/rant over.

Any advice as to what i can do?

Can i downgrade to 2.3 / 2.2? what features would i loose?

There's already a thread about this problem :) Anyway what helped me was to do a factory reset (setting --> SD card --> factory reset). I went from having 10 crashes over two days to 1 in 4 weeks.
I had a iPhone 3gs before and it did crash from time to time just as any other phone now a days will do.

I've had an appalling Android experience too. Completely unpredictable when it will suddenly stop doing something basic. Phone is barely fit for purpose. Just a toy to show your mates down the pub, really. But... it's actually run without crashing or my feeling the need to manually reboot it for nearly 20 days - a record for me. So what's changed - I don't know... I stopped using using any HTC calendar widgets, but find it hard to believe that was the cause or the weirdness and misc problems...

on my htc it will run for about 1 minute then crash there is no hope for it and i cant take it back becuase it is old my samusng galaxy s2 is better and the s3 will probley be better.
