Help Desire stuck on boot screen

Newbie
Hi, so last week my desire's power button died on me, a few days ago I decided to open it up a little to see if I could see any obvious problem (turns out not) so put the phone back together and since the the volume buttons have also come loose and are no longer working, so when I switched the phone on it came right onto some sort of boot or recovery mode giving me the option to hboot, fastboot, recovery, clear storage or simlock and to make my decision using the volume keys (which dont work), any tips on getting the phone back to normal mode without using these keys that dont work since the other keys dont seem to make a difference either.

I know I'm going to have to get the phone professionally repaired but would like to have it working in normal mode before I do this.

Phone is not rooted and is on android version 2.3.3 (pretty sure)

Any help is hugely appreciated.

the phone is going to that menu because it believed the volume key is being held down.
your phone would have been covered by hw warranty as desires are still under 2 years. now you have voided that.

basically what ever youve done has made the device think the volume rocker is being pressed

First thing I did was contact HTC and was told the phone only had a 1 year warranty and I purchased from ebay brand new not from a shop or on contract so no proof of purchase date etc.

I don't mind paying to get it sorted (i have a new phone anyway) just giving it to a friend when it's fixed as it's still a great phone so wanted to pass it over in full working condition.

Thanks for replying

if you got the phone in the box it should have come with a warranty card. they tell you it has a ltd manufacturing warranty for 2 years.

your invoice from the ebay seller should have been sufficient.

anyway its irrelivent now as youve opened it. take it to a local phone place it might just need a rebuild
