Help Desire turn on button!

Hi,

So i have been searching this forum to find the answer but i cannot believe that nobody has a problem with that.
If you want to turn off your phone you have to hold the power button for 3-4 sec, but when you want to turn it on you just have to press the button. And it is very easy to accidentally press that power button and then you have to wait for another 2-3 minutes until it turns on and then turn back off.
I don't understand why HTC didn't make turning phone on with 3-4 sec holding the power button, that's a common thing on probably every phone.

So if it is possible to change it on an unrooted desire, I would like to know how.

If the phone is off, there is no software running. Therefore it would be nigh-on impossible to implement a software fix for thus problem I would expect
