desire with hearing aid?

I really really REALLY want a Desire!

I wear a hearing aid (digital, phonak), and have googled loads but can't find out whether I'll be able to use the Desire with it. I've always managed with my Nokias and Samsungs, although it can be variable - some sound more staticy than others.

Does anyone have a hearing aid and use the desire, or has tried it out and found it does/doesn't work well?

I'd suggest going to your local Mobile Phone store and testing as many phones as you can. thats what i would do

I wear a hearing aid, too (digital, Siemens) and I hear with my Desire good.
With other phones often I have difficulty. Therefore I understand your question.

My local store seemed a little reticent to offer to let me test, but they said they'd try to find out if it was compatible. I thought they might have been a bit more forthcoming, but I'll try again.

Harry2, thanks, I think if one brand works, they probably all do then, so that gives me hope.

I use Oticon hearing aid and one of the features that sold me on it is an added Bluetooth receiver that goes around my neck. With it my phone (Desire) goes directly into my hearing aid. The Blootooth thing is the mic.

Hope that helps,

Shofar

I'd remind the store concerned of the disabilty act, and complain to their head office!

Name & shame!

The store I first went to weren't very helpful, but I went to another branch (limited for choice in my town), and they were beyond helpful, so they're not all bad.

And the good news is, I got my Desire, I love it, and am spending lots of time hunting down useful/cool apps!

are you using the bluetooth or telecoil with your aids? I tried it on my hearing aid on a salespersons htc desire phone and got horrible static with the telecoil setting

I doesn't use bluetooth or telecoil on my hearing aid.
I hear well enough when I press the Desire slightly above my ear (behind-ear hearing aid).

The Desire's audio frequency suits me well.

I have a pair of
Agil Pro Aids the blue tooth works great i,m hearing musical notes i forgot existed and when i get a phone call it stops Slackerr radio and lets me answer the phone on my X:D

Got my htc desire phone yesterday and to my horror there is a horrible static sound when I answered the phone using t-coil mode. Not happy as I did the test in the shop and didnt get much static so looks like I have to wait to change my hearing aid to blue-tooth which is the plan.

Used to own sony ericsson experia 8 and have no static sound whatsoever. Why cant mobile companies make phones that wont create static sounds????

I wear a digital hearing aid (opticon) myself and I have to say Desire's audio frequency works very well with me. Ive been using Desire for a year and a half with no problems what so ever...
