Root Desire Won't Reboot

I am close to launching my Desire out of the nearest window!

All was going well on LeeDroid 2.4.1 for a week or so until I attempted to reboot my Desire. It just wouldn't reboot. It would turn off, turn back on and vibrate but would get no further than the black T-Mobile screen with the pink circle in the middle.

After several failed attempts, I decided I would have to do a full wipe and reflash the latest LeeDroid ROM.

I did this and all seemed to be well. I attempted to reboot my Desire immediately after the installation and it rebooted as it should.

As soon as I restored my apps and data (green items only) from Titanium, it no longer reboots or boots up - even after a battery pull.

Logic would say it's something to do with one of the apps I restored?

I can access the recovery menu but it won't boot from there either.

Any help appreciated.

Some versions of LeeDroid wouldn't reboot if USB debugging was disabled.
2.4 was one of the versions that crapped out.

One thing to check I guess.

Good thinking. I recall that being an issue with 2.4, but I thought it was fixed with 2.4.1?

I suppose there could be some exceptions though?

It's strange that it rebooted fine before I restored my apps and data though.

Also, Are you just using the batch "restore missing apps with data"?

Yes. That's the option I am choosing.

Sounds to me like an issue with recovery itself, whether Leedroid corrupted it or not. I'm sure there are more eloquent solutions but by far the easiest is to RUU and then re-root!

Here's a little update.

I was able to reboot repeatedly after flashing with USB debugging ticked. I am going to see if this is the case after restoring my missing apps and data.

If I'm successful, USB debugging must be enabled for LeeDroid 2.4 ROMs.

Usb debugging must be enabled for 2.4. Maybe you're restoring the setting to off

Does that include 2.4.1 as well? If so, I think we have discovered the problem and I've gone the extremely long way about realising it! :D

I've managed two successful reboots after a reflash with USB debugging enabled.

I think I must have accidentally disabled it prior to when I first attempted to reboot today.

I don't know just that people such as kibster identified this on 2.4 before

I knew it affected 2.4, but It seems that it also affects 2.4.1 as well. It certainly does in my case anyway!

I've now managed three successful reboots since reflashing and USB debugging has remained ticked.

I think I'll have to let Lee know the issue. He's probably aware of it already, but there's no harm in double checking.

You're not the only one to report this. I've just left it on. In fact it was left switched on on my phone long before I flashed 2.4

After it happened to me I decided to leave USB debugging enabled all the time.
Luckily in most GB ROMs you can disable the annoying nag ;)
