Help Desktop Clock Alarm does not work!

I have had a problem with my incredible desktop alarm not waking me at all. I have had my phone replaced once and the replacement phone has worked very sporadically when I set the alarm to go off for me to wake up at 6:30 AM. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Has anybody else had a similar problem and how did you resolve it?

My educated guess of what the culprit is (as is with 99% of these cases): task killer.
