Root *Desperate Help to install xRecovery*

I'm using an Xperia X8 with the default 2.1 Eclair Rom
I previously installed 2.2.1 on my phone..

However, now I try to do it again as I flashed as I was experiencing problems and its just not happening! xRecovery will not install!
Yes, my phone is rooted using the SuperOneClick Method!
When I try to copy the chargemon, busybox and xRecovery.tar to my system/bin, only busybox and chargemon will successfully copy! xRecovery wont copy? I also tried to install xRecovery using the xRecovery Installer, that also didn't work! The phone just boots as usual, I really need some help to do this as Im a power user with many apps, and im running out of room! I would love to install a higher android version..
