Root Desperate Need Please Help Samsung Prevail

I am completely new and don't know where to postfound this forum when I needed to reboot my phone. I just updated two days ago on my boost mobile Samsung prevail to a 2.3.5 system and immediately there a proble my with by battery saying it was charging after it waswas taken off the charger then my ram started going up quicker than before and the update seemed to take a huge chunk out of my memory. After one day I turn off my phone and try to tirn it back on just to get the charging screen after too many attempts it came back on just to crash saying it needed to reboot. I found this f orum to open my phone but now my phone either won't stop charging with no charger or saying the battery is full when I know after a hour or two it can't be and now when I plug in the charger it won't acknowledge it is charging

Its sounds like a manufacturers defect. I would contact samsung and get them to replace it.it its a fairly quick process
