Did you never try to get a i7500 kernel working on the bh2? The hardware is identical, except for the memory and bootloader. Was rfs still an issue with that? The galaxy effort seems to be almost complete. They have a fully working rom now :)

sadly I never check into it until over the weekend, almost a year later ( oops ). From what I can tell, the kernel is identical & should be easy porting the kernel source to the behold 2. I've gotten ahold of the RFS module source, so this shouldn't be a problem. but I have my Phone partitioned to ext2 on all partitions at the moment.

from what I can see, the only major issue would be getting the correct starting point for the kernel start address using there merge tool / script as it seems broken to start with..

but, at this point I'm positive 2.1 / 2.2 can be installed onto the BH2 if we get these issue addressed.

my only major issue is lack of time.
 
Great news! I've been very much hoping that the BH2 would eventually become a relatively current phone again...its hardware is still good enough, and I still love its design more than any other phone. Best of luck Eugene, we're all very appreciative of your hard work and excited at this possibility!

B) What we suspected about being strung along by Samsung was true all the time.

C) That if you open the source, everyone wins. Why do companies NOT get this still.

Yep! Eugene is working on it now. (I think..... twitter posts seem to hint that way.) Don't expect it right away though. I'm sure there are still some hoops to jump through.
 
Hehe that caught me up at first, too, but then I figured that...well, exactly what you said. It can't be easy doing it by yourself. You rule.
 
Look for JFS Support tonight!

I'm removing the EXT2 stuff though, as I finally got data corruption. Currently building a new Recovery that supports JFS... with JFS we get the journalling & the speed of ext FS, I'll likely make an ext4 & JFS and completly drop support for RFS all together since it breaks Nandroid back-up & restore.

I recommend everyone Moving to the JFS File System when you can.
