Developers moving towards the Fire...

The Amazon app store leaves a lot to be desired at the moment, but with the popularity of the device, how many developers will start making sure their app works on the Fire and is in the store? I think the difference in app stores won't be nearly as drastic in a few months.

I think this is up to Amazon more than anyone else. Developers would love to have their apps in front of more people and most of the expensive work has been done for existing apps. Optimizing for another device would be cheep in comparison. The question comes down to what Amazon's approval process is like.

One of the great things about the Amazon App store is the Free App of the Day!!! (like today, Quickoffice Pro for FREE. $14.99 app for FREE) I think the Fire will bring more Developers to the Amazon App store.

I guess we can't know right away, but it would be stupid for them not to let apps in quickly considering the lack of apps is one of the main negative comments coming from people. Plus we all know how a device does with a lack of apps, I'm looking at you HP/Palm.

I hope developers will port there apps to the Amazon App Store. The 2 of my top apps I'm waiting for are Weight Watchers Mobile and Mahjong and Friends.

I'm hoping that with the popularity of the Fire that they'll start adding more and more apps to their appstore.

BTW, thanks to the person that said something about Quick Office being free, I grabbed it :)

I think it's a necessity for developers to ensure their apps work on the Fire. It's the hottest reader/ tablet for this season and in order to compete they have to be more diverse.

I don't think the amount of developers going to the Amazon app store will be that great.. more than there is now but I don't believe there will be too much of a drastic change. If anything people are more over anticipating getting the android market onto this device.

I think this may hurt development more. With Amazon's crippling the APIs, it means that developers can't just assume that they're working with specification limitations (RAM, screen size, CPU, OS), but now they have to account for things that the Fire totally can't do.
