Root Development thread

Shabby's still working on CWM. If I get the test Indulge soon, I may look at an alternate route to get your guys a ROM/custom kernel while we get CWM going.
 
I dont see it happening any time soon. The indulge is now old news and everyone is moving on to something more fun.

Is the indulge 2hard 2crack?? I knw a lot of ppl here were saying it was very difficult, is that y most (not all) ppl gave up?
 
I didnt say too hard. I said that people lost interest.

Only a couple people tried in the first place.

Well if it ever happens then koo... but if not, I'm very happy with the way everyone has helped make my phone the way it is now :) so thanks 2all that wrkd so hard and continue 2.
 
i gotta disagree the indulge era is still very much active, suppose for all the dev its the challenge that they thrive for. kind of like putting a jig-saw puzzle together.

nize!!!!!!! woohoo so just to make things more interesting what could we indulge users expect from this custom rom and would it help improve battery life?
 
As you find information about the phone can you post details in either this forum or on the ACSyndicate forums? I dont want to reinvent information already found by others (the partition layout for example)

Android can't see an android wifi tether signal.

Or is my understanding.
 
Android should see all wifi signals that are not ad hock. It doesn't ask the device what it is first.
Most likely, you have it set as an ad hock connection, and android cannot see those. Make sure you are selectingeither samsung galaxy indulge, or samsung epic 4g from the device settings page.
 
can anyone help me to understand what download mode is for. when i hold 9+power cause it does nothing but show the android with like a cation triangle over his head and says download mode
