Huh? I don't have this issue.

As for what drivers? Your wifi drivers. So you need to know what your wireless card is, which is listed in windows under "device manager" > Network adapters > your wireless card should be here. If you right click and hit properties, you will see under the driver tab, which should be located in top tabs. It will show a date for your driver. If its not 2011, update it!!

thanks buddy it wasnt a driver just that like mike toolz pointed out on my phone by default it had mac filter on so i had 2 click on the device on my phone and put a green check on it 2 give it access which is great!

what do you guys think would happen if you renamed the touchwiz launcher? if the TW doesnt run do you think it would lock up the phone? im interested to see a sammy without touchwiz over top, maybe its a bit faster

just download go launcher or something. you can not use touchwiz on a non rooted phone

right so download another launcher and set it as the default. you have to use the touchwiz frameworks tho.. they are the underlying files that make your phone tic

Shabby,

Not trying to question your knowledge, because I know it's a lot higher than my levels, but back when I had a Vibrant , Team Whiskey had made some TW-Free ROMs. These were a while down the road from the initial ROMing of the device though.

Now, that having been said, were they truely TW-Free, or just nothing TW that was end-user-facing?

Just the TouchWiz launcher removed. See SyndicateROM Frozen Standard. The TouchWiz framework is deeply integrated, but there's nothing about the framework itself that uses much if any resources. It's reasonably light, and actually almost a help - notice that other devices don't have the same dropdown radio controls that the Galaxy S series and the Indulge (presumably) have.

Thank you for the clarification!

First post and I have to say thank you guys for the root, it works great, i'm trying to get the wifi tether to work on my xoom, it doesn't display my phone at all but on my laptop it does any ideas as to why its not letting me connect my xoom to it?

by default its set to adhoc which android will not see. you should be able to change it to infrastructure. you might have to change the phone to be the epic 4g tho in settings

Or download the right version tethering app where the I had the author add the Indulge officially :p

Use Google Goggles and point it at this -
wifi_tether_v3_0-pre13.apk

Ciper, I switched back to the older version and set it as epic 4G. The new version with indulge settings was not as reliable and kept failing to start/stop.

Looked at a friend's Epic. Very nice os design. The 4g toggle is where it should be... I shouldn't be but I'm surprised Samsung thought we would be flying more then toggling 4g...

I cant understand why Samsung/Metro would forget to create a fricken shortcut to a function already implemented in the dang phone but its there.

I wonder if we could take the LTE applications from a Verizon phone and install it here? Maybe the SCH-i510

Your found lte toggle was already discussed here. All you did was use the lte access code that any cut would provide.

Using any cut you can do exactly what you are looking to write an app for... but the problem still stands... Killing 4g saves a lot of battery. Any cut's toggle saves a little. This phone needs the former.
