Help Device not supported

TMD78

Newbie
I downloaded the tbs app and tried to play a couple shows only to get "device not supported" errors. I was truly surprised since I thought I was buying what so many articles are calling the best phone available? Last night I tried to watch a streaming video of the 121212 concert and it kept giving a "decode error" but my girlfriends iphone 5 and my ipad immediately streamed. Im totally new to android, always owned iphones and trust me I want this note 2 to work out as I was just too bored with iOS, but I have to ask for honest feedback... are these types of issues common or do I just happen to have had an unlucky streak? I realize some of the trade off is being more involved in the OS but it seems like im constantly looking for some app to make a routine expectation actually work (mms was weird stock, tried go sms as one example). I like to pick things apart but im a bit underwhelmed. I've only had the phone about a week and it did freeze up once already also where I then pulled the battery. Im worried I have only a short time to return but again I really want to stick it out since its only been a week and I made a carrier switch to tmobile that really limits any fallback plan.

I see you're new to Android.
I would've checked the reviews in the play store for the TBS app.
I did after reading your post and believe me, you're not the only user having problems with it and it's not relegated to the Note 2.

Also, please keep in mind that iOS and Android apps don't go hand in hand.
One would think an iOS app made available for Android would be just as flawless yet more times than not, that's not the case.

I seriously doubt what you're experiencing is the fault of the phone. It's the Android app.
Where were you streaming the 121212 concert from?

Appreciate the reply. I was streaming directly from the website 121212concert.org. but it seemed to redirect to a video feed on iheartradio on both the note 2 and iphone 5 (and ipad for that matter). I tried a few of the hundred or so other site suggestions that were carrying the video with no luck. That got me worried and I figured there was some reason the note 2 wouldnt play this type of streaming videos and started to research what I needed to download to make videos work.
