Help DHD compass is wrong

The subject line says it all, really. Whenever I use Locations, Maps, Latitude or gvSig Minimaps, it tells me I am facing between forty-five and ninety degrees off to one side. Any idea how to fix this? It looks very silly with the arrow moving sideways down the street, at right-angles to the direction of travel...

It's a long shot, but have you tried recalibrating your G-Sensor?

I got rid of this problem after I used 'GPS Status' with its tool for compass calibration

I've used that as well, Harry2. I'm afraid it didn't help.

El Presidente, I thought of that, but I got the impression that tinkering with the G-sensor was something you only did if you fancied having your phone in permanent landscape mode...

Like I say it's a long shot, but there's no harm in giving it a whirl.

I've never had issues when I've recalibrated.

When people have experienced problems following calibration of the g sensor, it generally turns out that the phone wasn't completely level when they did it. The advice often given is to lay it on a level table with the camera housing hanging over the edge. In any event, when people have had problems, they generally seem to be resolved by repeating the calibration with the phone properly level.

Okay. I'll try recalibrating, but it's going to have to wait until I can get to the shops and buy a spirit level!
