Help DHD reboots

Hi all.

I am a new Desire HD user. coming from E71, its a total upgrade! And im loving the fact that its fully customizable. However, there are instances when the phone reboots out of nowhere when i am playing a game. (while charging)

I've only had the phone for 4 days. So that might be a factor. Also, I read on some website that some HTC Desire phones have problems with their motherboard and needed to be replaced. The reboot happens because of the battery temperature or something? They said that the battery temperature becomes very hot when charging and running an app at the same time, hence the reboot.

I dont have the complete details and I have yet to call HTC. I havent seen anyone bringing up this issue in this forum. Any feedback?

ps: phone is not rooted and im usually on wifi when it reboots.

Someone else will probably give a more definite answer but did this only start after you installed a particular app/game

Might be worth factory reseting first but uninstall any apps etc first and see if problem arises in a stock setup

When I swapped my dhd after one day for a.different fault it re downloaded all my apps from the faulty phone ( spooky and pretty cool at the same time)

I saw another post somewhere about a phone rebooting while playing robodefence because of heat. Is that the game causing reboot?

I was playing Pocket Legends. It occasionally reboots too when im doing something. So this is not a known issue to anyone?

Random reboots are known to Android and it's apps. The best advice was posted above and to do a factory reset and see if the phone still reboots. I only install trusted apps and that come from a trusted source. When I first started installing apps I had an anti-virus installed to check every app and then once I got the ones down that I was going to use on a daily basis I uninstalled the anti-virus.

Pretty much everything. You can save stuff to the SD Card and remove that when you do it to keep what you want though.

You can move apps to the SD, but they will re download themselves anyway. Also, all your contacts etc should be backed up to your gmail account, but you can check by accessing your contacts via the gmail web interface.
